What Is Citomix? Guna Granules Explained

Educational information on traditional homeopathic use only. Not medical advice.

If you have searched for "Citomix", "Citomix homeopathy" or "Citomix Guna", you have probably noticed that very little is written about it in plain English. This guide sets out what the product page says, what the ingredients are, and how Citomix is traditionally paired with other Guna remedies. It is written for people who want to understand the product before they buy it, not as a promise of any particular result.

What is Citomix?

Citomix is a homeopathic granule (small sugar pellets) made by Guna, an Italian company known for its low-dose, cytokine-based approach. Guna calls this approach "low dose medicine": very small, highly diluted amounts of the body's own signalling molecules, taken together with traditional plant and tissue ingredients. Citomix is the immune-focused member of that range. It is sold with the label "Citomix Granules", and you may also see it written as Citomix in Czech or Italian listings (for example "cena" or "koupit", meaning price or buy, and "granuli" in Italian).

Traditionally, Citomix is used to support the body's own immune defences, particularly at times when a person feels run down or is prone to repeated minor infections. It is not an antibiotic, an antiviral or a vaccine, and it is not a replacement for any of those.

The ingredients, explained

The ingredients below are exactly as printed on our product page. Potencies are shown as X (decimal) or C (centesimal) dilutions.

  • Ananassa 3X (pineapple) and Hydrocotyle asiatica 3X (centella): traditional plant ingredients.
  • Mountain cranberry 3X: another plant ingredient in the formula.
  • Granulocyte colony stimulating factor 4C, 9C, 15C, 30C: a signalling molecule, here in very high dilution.
  • Interferon gamma 4C and Interleukin 1 beta 5C, Interleukin 2 5C/7C, Interleukin 4 4C, Interleukin 6 7C/9C/15C: further signalling molecules (cytokines) in homeopathic dilution. This is the "low dose" element of Guna's approach.
  • Lymphatic vessel, porcine 4C, Medulla ossis suis 4C (bone marrow) and Thymus gland, porcine 4C: organ preparations that reflect the tissues involved in immune function.

Because several ingredients are of porcine origin, Citomix is not suitable for people who avoid animal-derived products. Please check the label on your pack as well.

Directions as printed on our page

The directions on our product page read: 3-5 pellets, 2-3 times a day. In acute phases, 10 pellets, 2-3 times a day. Pellets are normally allowed to dissolve under the tongue, away from food and drink. If you are unsure how long to use it, or whether it is right for a child, speak to a homeopathic practitioner or pharmacist.

Common combinations listed on the product page

Guna's own literature, reproduced on our product page, lists a number of traditional pairings. These are practitioner-style combinations, so treat them as background reading rather than a self-treatment plan.

  • Citomix with Guna-Virus: traditionally paired to support non-specific antiviral defences. See Guna Virus Granules.
  • Citomix with Guna-Tonsils: a traditional pairing where tonsil complaints keep returning.
  • Citomix with Eubioflor: traditionally used where gut balance is thought to be part of the picture.
  • Citomix with Micox: listed for recurrent mucocutaneous yeast problems.
  • Citomix with Guna-Cough or Guna-Noni: listed for recurrent chest problems in children or in adults and older people respectively.

Citomix, Guna-Virus and Lymphomyosot: how do they differ?

Citomix is a general immune-support granule built on cytokines and organ preparations. Guna-Virus is the more specific partner for people who are thinking about viruses. Heel's Lymphomyosot works from a different tradition altogether: it is a classic homeopathic combination traditionally associated with the lymphatic system. People sometimes use more than one of these over the same period, ideally with advice from a practitioner.

Who should be careful?

  • Anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding or giving it to a child should ask their practitioner first.
  • People with a known allergy to any listed ingredient, or who avoid porcine-derived products, should not use it.
  • Anyone with an immune condition, or taking prescribed immune-modifying medicines, should speak to their doctor before adding any supplement or homeopathic remedy.

Citomix is a homeopathic product. If symptoms are severe, getting worse or not settling, please see a doctor.
