What Is Sanum Pefrakehl? Candida parapsilosis Explained

Educational information on traditional homeopathic use only. Not medical advice.

Pefrakehl is the least well known of the Sanum remedies that carry the "-kehl" name, and it is often looked up by people who are already familiar with Albicansan and want to know how the two differ. This guide sets out what Pefrakehl is, how it is traditionally used according to our product page, and what to ask your practitioner.

What is Pefrakehl?

Pefrakehl is made from Candida parapsilosis, a yeast that is related to, but distinct from, Candida albicans. It belongs to the Sanum range of isopathic fungal remedies, which use homeopathic dilutions of microorganisms rather than the organisms themselves. The main ingredient on our page is Candida parapsilosis at 3X or higher potencies, depending on the form.

What is it traditionally used for?

Our page describes Pefrakehl as traditionally used to support the immune system and intestinal health, and in situations where yeast imbalances are thought to play a part in inflammation, tiredness and mucosal irritation. The listed areas include the mouth, the gut and the urogenital tract, and the page mentions fissures, granulomas, and imbalances following antibiotic courses.

These are traditional associations. Persistent thrush, mouth sores, bowel changes or urinary symptoms need a proper diagnosis from a doctor. See also our guide to Candida support and when to see a doctor.

Forms and traditional dosage

Pefrakehl is made in four forms. The listing we currently carry is the 10 ml bottle of drops (5D), but the page gives the full range for reference:

  • Drops (5X), 10 ml: 5 to 10 drops in a little water once daily before a meal.
  • Capsules (4X), 20: 1 capsule daily.
  • Suppositories (3X), 10: 1 suppository daily, ideally in the evening.
  • Ointment (3X), 30 g: applied thinly to the affected area 1 to 2 times daily.

Please confirm which forms are available at the time of ordering. Our current listing is for the drops.

Pefrakehl compared with Albicansan and Sankombi

Practitioners often think of the Sanum fungal remedies as a set.

  • Albicansan is made from Candida albicans, the most common yeast in everyday discussion of thrush and Candida. See our Albicansan forms guide.
  • Pefrakehl targets a different Candida species and is often considered when the picture is more persistent or less typical.
  • Sankombi contains moulds (Mucor racemosus and Aspergillus niger). See Albicansan vs Sankombi.

If you would like Albicansan and Sankombi together, the Albicansan + Sankombi Drops Duo pack lets you save 5%.

Practical points

  • Many people begin with a low number of drops and build gradually; ask your practitioner what suits you.
  • Keep a short diary of diet, symptoms and any other remedies, so you can see patterns.
  • Diet and general measures matter in any yeast-related problem, and a practitioner can advise on those.

Cautions

  • Ask your practitioner before use in pregnancy, breastfeeding or in children; the page gives no age-specific advice.
  • Drops can contain ethanol. Check your pack.
  • Anyone who is immunosuppressed or has recurring candida infections should be under medical supervision.
