Indications
Alpha-ketoglutaric acid is one of the acids of the citric acid cycle and is traditionally associated with the muscular and connective tissues, where exhaustion accompanied by pain is the characteristic note. The typical constitution is that of slim, muscular, sporting types. It is linked with pains and injuries of the musculature and the ligamentous apparatus — including rheumatism of the soft tissues and tendovaginitis (inflammation of a tendon sheath) — and with a marked feeling of weakness, particularly when suffering from influenza. As an active factor of the citric acid cycle and of the redox systems, it is connected with faltering cellular energy metabolism and states of exhaustion. Characteristic modalities include a constant need to keep the windows open wide, with the condition worsening on sitting still and while driving.
About the remedy
Acidum a-ketoglutaricum-Injeel is a single-remedy homeopathic preparation from Heel's antihomotoxic Injeel range, containing potentised Acidum alpha-ketoglutaricum (a-ketoglutaric acid). This carboxylic acid is one of the intermediate compounds of the citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle), the central pathway of cellular energy production and biological oxidation. In the antihomotoxic system it is used as a catalyst to support and reactivate the enzyme steps of cellular energy metabolism.

Each 1.1 ml ampoule contains: Acidum alpha-ketoglutaricum D10, D30, D200 — 0.367 ml each.

As with all catalyst preparations, it is helpful to drink plenty of fluids during the first three days, to rest from strenuous activity, and to follow a light, low-toxin diet; correct timing is important.
