Indications

Causticum is traditionally associated with paralytic, rheumatic and arthritic disorders — with pains in the muscular and connective tissues accompanied by a progressive decrease in muscular strength, with contracture of the tendons and crepitation (creaking) of the joints, and with post-apoplectic paresis. It is a classic remedy for burns and their after-effects, and is linked with a painful, burning atony of the bladder and with incontinence brought on by coughing. In the throat and larynx it is connected with hoarseness and a raw, sore throat that feels “like raw meat.” It is further associated with hard, dry warts, with dryness of the eyes and photophobia (a gritty sensation as of sand in the eye), and with tinnitus.

About the remedy

Causticum-Injeel S is a single-remedy homeopathic preparation from Heel's antihomotoxic Injeel range, containing potentised Causticum Hahnemanni (Hahnemann's causticum), a chemical preparation devised by Samuel Hahnemann. In homeopathy its sphere of action is centred on the nerves, muscles and connective tissue, where it is used for paralytic weakness, contracture and the effects of burns.

Composition

Each 1.1 ml ampoule contains: Causticum Hahnemanni D12, D30, D200 — 0.367 ml each.

Suggested use

Supplied as ampoules of 1.1 ml. The solution may be taken orally or used by injection (i.m., s.c., i.d. or i.v.). A general guideline is the contents of one ampoule 1–3 times weekly; in acute situations it may be used more frequently, or as directed.
