Indications

Formic acid is traditionally used as a general alterative remedy — one that gradually restores healthier function — in bronchial asthma, in rheumatic affections and in neuralgia. It is particularly associated with the deeper “cellular” phases of disease, in which cell systems are progressively damaged, and is described as a cell-stimulation factor in retoxic states, including retoxic impairment of the heart muscle. It is further linked with allergic disorders of the skin and mucous membranes, such as eczema, and is widely valued for its de-allergising (desensitising) action. In veterinary practice it has traditionally been applied to pulmonary heaves in horses.

About the remedy

Acidum formicicum-Injeel is a single-remedy homeopathic preparation from Heel's antihomotoxic Injeel range, containing potentised Acidum formicicum (formic acid), the simplest of the organic carboxylic acids and the natural defensive secretion of ants. In homeopathy and antihomotoxic medicine it is valued chiefly for its stimulating, de-allergising action on connective tissue and mucous membranes, and is used to help move deep-seated, chronic and allergic conditions towards resolution.

Composition

Each 1.1 ml ampoule contains: Acidum formicicum D12, D30, D200 — 0.367 ml each.

Part of the Heel range — what to use it with

Among the preparations stocked here, formic acid features as a constituent of Cutis compositum. For its de-allergising and anti-neuralgic action it is often combined in injection therapy with Traumeel S, Spascupreel and Galium-Heel.

Suggested use

Supplied as ampoules of 1.1 ml. The solution may be taken orally or used by injection (i.m., s.c., i.d. or i.v.). A general guideline is the contents of one ampoule 1–3 times weekly; in acute situations it may be used more frequently, or as directed.
