Indications

Urtica urens (small nettle) is traditionally associated with urticaria and irritating, itching skin eruptions (urticarial dermatosis), and with the uric-acid diathesis — the constitutional tendency underlying gout, rheumatism and nephrolithiasis (urinary stones) — where it is also valued for its diuretic action. It is further linked with eczema. In women it is connected with disturbances of milk secretion around childbirth: both with agalactia and hypogalactia (absent or scanty milk) and, conversely, with galactorrhoea (excessive or continuing flow), especially where there is painful swelling of the breasts (Voisin).

About the remedy

Urtica-Injeel is a single-remedy homeopathic preparation from Heel’s antihomotoxic Injeel range, containing potentised Urtica urens (small nettle), a plant of the nettle family (Urticaceae). The fresh stinging plant, which raises weals on contact with the skin, has a long traditional use for itching urticarial eruptions, gouty and uric-acid complaints, and for regulating the flow of breast milk.

Composition

Each 1.1 ml ampoule contains: Urtica urens D12, D30, D200 — 0.367 ml each.

Part of the Heel range — what to use it with

Urtica urens is a constituent of Cutis Compositum and Galium-Heel among the preparations stocked here. For disturbances of milk secretion after childbirth it is combined with Galium-Heel and Lymphomyosot.

Suggested use

Supplied as ampoules of 1.1 ml. The solution may be taken orally or used by injection (i.m., s.c., i.d. or i.v.). A general guideline is the contents of one ampoule 1–3 times weekly; in acute situations it may be used more frequently, or as directed.
