Calcarea carbonica is prepared from calcium carbonate obtained from the soft, middle layer of the oyster shell (Weleda lists it as Calcium carbonicum). Through successive homeopathic dilution and succussion this mineral source is taken to a 30c potency - the mother substance diluted at 1:100 and shaken, thirty times over. Presented as small tablets that dissolve readily on the tongue, the remedy comes in Weleda's glass bottle of 125 tablets on a lactose and sucrose base. In the classical homeopathic tradition, Calc. carb. is one of the great 'constitutional' remedies, associated with themes of tiredness, feeling chilly and overworked, and a longing for security and routine.

Directions: Adults: 2 tablets. Children: 1 tablet. To be sucked or chewed. Unless otherwise directed, take 1 dose every 2 hours for the first 6 doses, then 1 dose when required, reducing frequency as symptoms improve.
