Indications

Rhus toxicodendron is traditionally associated with rheumatism and neuralgia that are worse in cold, wet weather, after being drenched by rain and when at rest, and better for movement and in warm, dry weather — for example neuralgia of the arm, intercostal and sciatic neuralgia, and pains in the limbs, including serious muscular pain. It is also linked with conjunctivitis, parotitis and mastitis, and with a range of skin and suppurative complaints: whitlows, carbuncles with dark-red swelling and a tendency to suppuration, erysipelas and herpes zoster (shingles). A marked accompanying picture of great restlessness and debility is characteristic.

About the remedy

Rhus Tox Injeel S is a single-remedy homeopathic preparation from Heel’s antihomotoxic Injeel range, containing potentised Rhus toxicodendron (poison oak/ivy), a woody plant of the sumac family (Anacardiaceae). It is one of homeopathy’s principal rheumatic remedies, classically suited to complaints that ease with continued motion, and is used to support the joints, muscles, nerves and skin.

Composition

Each 1.1 ml ampoule contains: Rhus toxicodendron D12, D30, D200 — 0.367 ml each.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to plants of the genus Rhus of the Anacardiaceae (sumac) family.

Part of the Heel range — what to use it with

Rhus toxicodendron is a widely used constituent across the Heel range. Among the preparations stocked here it features in Zeel T, Neuralgo-Rheum-Injeel, Aesculus Compositum, Echinacea Compositum, Gelsemium Homaccord and Oculoheel.

Suggested use

Supplied as ampoules of 1.1 ml. The solution may be taken orally or used by injection (i.m., s.c., i.d. or i.v.). A general guideline is the contents of one ampoule 1–3 times weekly; in acute situations it may be used more frequently, or as directed.
