Traumeel for Arthritis combined with Zeel

Two of Heel's best-loved remedies sit side by side on the shelf, and many people keep them together. Traumeel is generally associated with knocks, strains and recovery, while Zeel is focused on ongoing joint comfort. They are often used together.

Here we cover why people combine Traumeel and Zeel, the forms each comes in, and how to take each one.

The short version: worn joint reaches for Zeel, fresh injury reaches for Traumeel — and sometimes both have a role.

Why people combine Traumeel and Zeel

They overlap, but each has a clear home ground.

  • Zeel is for wear-and-tear — the slow, grinding ache of osteoarthritic, cartilage-worn joints.
  • Traumeel is for trauma — the fresh knock, sprain, strain or bruise, and the swelling that follows.
  • Timescale is the tell — chronic and daily leans Zeel; sudden and recent leans Traumeel.

Zeel is frequently paired with Traumeel, which is why the two are often sold together as a bundle. For a flare-up in a worn joint, pair Zeel with Traumeel gel on the spot. Pairing is a matter of practice and preference, not proof of effectiveness, and Zeel is not a proven treatment for osteoarthritis: it should sit alongside, not instead of, proper joint care.

The forms: Traumeel and Zeel T

Traumeel

Traumeel is available in multiple formulations, including ointment, gel, tablets, drops and ampoules, allowing treatment to be tailored to individual needs.

Zeel T

Zeel ‘T’ is for symptoms associated with degenerative arthritic conditions. It is a homoeopathic combination formulation of botanical, zoological, biochemical and mineral substances. Zeel T comes as tablets, ampoules and ointment, and the tablets are also sold as Zeel comp. N Tabletten.

How to take each one

Unless otherwise directed by your healthcare practitioner, these are the directions shown on our product pages.

Traumeel Tablets

Allow one tablet to dissolve slowly in the mouth. In acute cases the tablets can be taken every 15 minutes until symptoms subside. Maximum 12 tablets a day. Tablets can be mixed with a little water without losing effectiveness. Follow the dosage instructions provided on the product packaging or by your healthcare professional.

Traumeel Gel and Ointment

Apply a thin layer of Traumeel Gel to the affected area 2–3 times daily, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Gently massage into the skin until absorbed. The directions for Traumeel S Ointment are the same: apply a thin layer to the affected area 2–3 times daily, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner, and massage gently into the skin until absorbed.

Traumeel Drops

Take the drops orally exactly as directed on the product packaging or by your healthcare practitioner.

Traumeel Ampoules

Normal dosage is 1 ampoule every 3 days. In acute disorders, 1 ampoule every day. Break the vial/ampoule at the marker, and tap into a glass of water. To be taken with water over 15-20 minutes. Outside of food - 10-15 minutes. Other methods of use, including injection (i.m., s.c., i.d., i.v.), are for trained individuals, e.g. practitioners.

Zeel T

  • Tablets: In general, 1 tablet to be dissolved in the mouth 3 times daily.
  • Ampoules: In general, 1 ampoule 1–3 times weekly. These ampoules are the 2.2 ml size for human use.
  • Ointment: Apply to the affected areas, rubbing in gently morning and evening, or more often if necessary. An occlusive dressing may be applied.

Your natural toolkit — and which to reach for

Here is how the main options stack up for a joint that is worn and sometimes flares.

Zeel T — reach for this if the joint is worn, stiff and achy over months or years. The go-to for osteoarthritic wear-and-tear.

Traumeel Tablets — reach for these to calm an all-over, achy flare from the inside.

Traumeel Gel — reach for this to work directly into a hot, sore knee, hip or hand.

Simple things that genuinely help

  • Match the remedy to the timeline: chronic to Zeel, acute to Traumeel.
  • Take Traumeel and Zeel tablets consistently, not just on the worst days.
  • Massage the gel into the sorest joint morning and night.
  • Keep joints gently moving — slow, easy range-of-motion beats stillness.
