A fever is an elevation in body temperature. It is a common symptom of disease but should be treated as secondary to the disordered state with which it is associated.
Normal body temperature ranges from 98F degrees to 99F degrees. One should not have undue concern unless the body temperature rises above 102F degrees in adults or 103F degrees in children. In fact those running a temperature is often helpful to the body. This defence mechanism of the body acts to destroy harmful microbes.
Dosage of Combination Salts:
Suggested dosage for Children and Adolescents:
- 0 to 1 year: 1 tablet
- 1 to 6 years: 2 tablets
- 6 to 10 years: 3 tablets
- 10 years and older: 4 tablets
Acute cases: In general, administered every 15 minutes, half-hour, hourly or in 2-hour intervals, as required, depending on the intensity of the symptoms.
Subacute cases: 3-4 times a day for a relatively extended period of time.
Chronic cases: 2-3 times a day for a relatively extended period of time.
Infants: 1 tablet at a time, dissolved in some warm water.
More than one salt can be taken concurrently; use in alteration.
Combination salt tablets should be allowed to dissolve under the tongue. Note: The salts are lactose based (milk and sugar)
Composition: Ferrum Phosphoricum 3X, Kali Muriaticum 3X, Kali Sulphuricum 3X, Natrum Muriaticum 3X, Natrum Sulphuricum 3X
Ferrum Phosphoricum 3X: The body normally maintains an even temperature by controlling the balance between heat fained and lost. Heat is gained by oxidation of the tissues, the primary function of Ferrum Phosophoricum, which takes place during the process of nutrition. In the feverish state, balance of heat gained and lost is no longer maintained and more heat is being lost than gained.
Catarrhal fever with quickened pulse, inflammatory fevers, chill developers at 1pm every day, dry heat of the palms, force throat and chest.
Kali Muriaticum 3X: Fever with constipation, tongue has a thick, white, furry coating, catarrhal fever, great chilliness, the patient is better when covered in bed.
Kali Sulphuricum 3X: The tissue salt assists in controlling temperature balance and in promoting perspiration, therefore it an ideal remedy for any febrile symptoms. Fevers from blood poisoning, gastric, enteric, and typhoid fevers, scarlet fever, stage of desquamation, cold sweat.
Natrum Muriaticum 3X: A chilly remedy, therefore is a key consideration for any body part in feverish condition. Chilly and thirsty occurring concurrently. Scarlet fever with drowsiness, twitching or vomiting of watery fluids, profuse perspiration, night sweats, hay fever with watery discharge from eyes and nose, intense itching, heart, headache, thirst, sour sweat, backache, great languor, emaciation, sallow complexion, fever-blisters on lips.
Natrum Sulphuricum 3X: Intermittent fever, sweat without thirst, bilious vomiting, internal coldness, hot feeling on top of the heat.
