Indications

Ignatia is traditionally associated with nervous and emotional complaints of a changeable, paradoxical nature. It is linked with sighing respiration and an inability to breathe deeply or normally, spasmodic yawning, and a nervous irritation from coughing. In the emotional sphere it is connected with lability of mood, tearfulness and weeping without cause, exogenous (grief-related) depression, querulousness and globus hystericus (a lump-in-the-throat sensation). It is further associated with migraine — characteristically improved after urination — and with a headache felt like a nail in the forehead, and with irregular menses accompanied by spasmodic pains. It is a classic remedy for the after-effects of grief, worry and emotional strain.

About the remedy

Ignatia Injeel S is a single-remedy homeopathic preparation from Heel's antihomotoxic Injeel range, containing potentised Ignatia (Strychnos ignatii, St. Ignatius' bean), the seed of a climbing shrub of the Loganiaceae family. One of homeopathy's best-known remedies for the nervous and emotional sphere, it is traditionally turned to for the effects of grief, disappointment and suppressed emotion.

Composition

Each 1.1 ml ampoule contains: Ignatia D12, D30, D200 — 0.367 ml each.

Part of the Heel range — what to use it with

Ignatia is widely used across the Heel range; among the preparations stocked here it features in Ignatia-Homaccord, Nervoheel, Ypsiloheel, Klimakt-Heel, Hormeel S, Barijodeel, Cerebrum compositum, Cor compositum, Cutis compositum and Neuro-Injeel. For globus hystericus it is often paired with Ypsiloheel, and for a tendency to weep without cause with Ignatia-Homaccord.

Suggested use

Supplied as ampoules of 1.1 ml. The solution may be taken orally or used by injection (i.m., s.c., i.d. or i.v.). A general guideline is the contents of one ampoule 1–3 times weekly; in acute situations it may be used more frequently, or as directed.
