Hepar sulphuris calcareum (Hepar sulph.) is a homeopathic preparation made by heating finely powdered oyster shell (calcium carbonate) together with flowers of sulphur to form calcium sulphide, which is then triturated and potentised. The '30c' potency is a centesimal dilution: the source is diluted 1:100 and succussed at each of thirty steps. Weleda presents the remedy as lactose and sucrose tablets, a bottle of 125, suitable for vegetarians. Traditionally, Hepar sulph. is associated in homeopathy with heightened sensitivity, irritability and complaints of the skin and respiratory passages, and it is a well-known remedy in the classical materia medica.

Directions: Adults: 2 tablets. Children: 1 tablet. To be sucked or chewed. Unless otherwise directed, take 1 dose every 2 hours for the first 6 doses, then 1 dose when required, reducing frequency as symptoms improve.
