Indications
Fumaric acid is one of the acids of the citric acid cycle and is traditionally associated with a pasty, puffy, breathless constitution — a bluish tinge to the face, greasy hair and a strong tendency to perspiration — together with reduced kidney function; in its nervous picture it resembles Kalium carbonicum. It is linked with colds accompanied by a running, burning catarrh and swollen eyelids, and with hay fever. It is further connected with enzymatic disturbances of the digestive organs, with inflammatory disease of the female genitalia (ovaritis, parametritis with a sensation of prolapse) and with climacteric complaints such as flushes and outbreaks of sweating. As an active factor of the citric acid cycle and the redox systems it is also associated with conditions of exhaustion; where high blood pressure is present, it is applied together with malic acid.
About the remedy
Acidum fumaricum-Injeel is a single-remedy homeopathic preparation from Heel's antihomotoxic Injeel range, containing potentised Acidum fumaricum (fumaric acid). Fumaric acid is one of the intermediate acids of the citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle), the central pathway of cellular energy production and biological oxidation. In the antihomotoxic system it is used as a catalyst to support the enzyme steps of cellular energy metabolism and the redox systems.
Composition
Each 1.1 ml ampoule contains: Acidum fumaricum D10, D30, D200 — 0.367 ml each.

Fumaric acid is one of Heel's citric-acid-cycle catalysts and is classically paired with malic acid, stocked here as Acidum DL-malicum-Injeel. It is otherwise used together with the related single remedies stocked here — Acidum citricum-Injeel, Acidum cis aconiticum-Injeel, Acidum succinicum-Injeel, Acidum a-ketoglutaricum-Injeel, Baryum oxalsuccinicum-Injeel and Natrium pyruvicum-Injeel — and as a constituent it features in Coenzyme compositum, Cor compositum, Cutis compositum, Hepar compositum and Thyreoidea compositum.
Suggested use
Supplied as ampoules of 1.1 ml. The solution may be taken orally or used by injection (i.m., s.c., i.d. or i.v.). A general guideline is the contents of one ampoule 1–3 times weekly; in acute situations it may be used more frequently, or as directed. As with all catalyst preparations, it is helpful to drink plenty of fluids during the first three days, to rest from strenuous activity, and to follow a light, low-toxin diet; correct timing is important.
