Indications

Apis is traditionally associated with oedema and with sudden, stinging, burning pains that are made worse by heat and by touch and eased by cold and open air. It is linked with pale, watery swelling, with urticaria (nettle-rash) and with a fiery-red, oedematous tongue and swollen eyelids, and characteristically with an absence of thirst. It is connected with the development of cysts, particularly of the right ovary; with conjunctivitis, with meningeal irritation and with nephritis following scarlet fever; with erysipelas, especially of the face; with right-sided tonsillitis; and with serous effusions such as those of pleuritis. It is further associated with rheumatism marked by extreme sensitivity to touch and movement, and with a nervous, over-sensitive state.

About the remedy

Apis-Injeel S is a single-remedy homeopathic preparation from Heel's antihomotoxic Injeel range, prepared from potentised Apis mellifica (the honey bee). The whole bee, with its venom, is the classic homeopathic source for this remedy, whose picture mirrors the effects of a bee-sting — rapid, puffy, oedematous swelling with burning, stinging pain that is relieved by cold. It is one of homeopathy's principal remedies for oedema and acute inflammatory swelling.

Composition

Each 1.1 ml ampoule contains: Apis mellifica D12, D30, D200 — 0.367 ml each.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to bee venom.

Suggested use

Supplied as ampoules of 1.1 ml. The solution may be taken orally or used by injection (i.m., s.c., i.d. or i.v.). A general guideline is the contents of one ampoule 1–3 times weekly; in acute situations it may be used more frequently, or as directed.
