Indications
Baryum oxalsuccinicum is traditionally associated with the glandular and endocrine system as a whole — especially the thymus and pineal gland, and also the pituitary — and is thus linked with the central control of hormonal activity and with the regulation of endocrine disturbances. It is particularly connected with the transitional phases of puberty and the menopause. As a catalyst of the citric acid cycle it is regarded as an active factor of cellular energy and redox metabolism. In the respiratory sphere it is associated with chronic catarrh and bronchial asthma with dyspnoea, and it is traditionally thought of in all ear ailments of childhood and with a reduced sense of smell. It is further linked with congestion of blood in the head and states following apoplexy, with impaired sight (in childhood often myopia and squinting), with paralysis of the eye-muscles following infectious diseases and inflammatory diseases of the eyelids, and with circulatory disorders in the extremities.
About the remedy
Baryum oxalsuccinicum-Injeel is a single-remedy homeopathic preparation from Heel's antihomotoxic Injeel range, containing potentised Baryum oxalsuccinicum (barium oxalsuccinate, the barium salt of oxalosuccinic acid). Oxalosuccinic acid is one of the intermediate acids of the citric acid cycle, the central pathway of cellular energy metabolism; the preparation belongs to Heel's catalyst remedies, used to support disturbed enzyme and redox functions within that cycle.
Composition
Each 1.1 ml ampoule contains: Baryum oxalsuccinicum D10, D30, D200 — 0.367 ml each.

Baryum oxalsuccinicum is one of the catalysts of the citric acid cycle and features in Coenzyme Compositum. In injection therapy it is characteristically used together with the other citric-acid-cycle catalysts stocked here — Acidum Citricum Injeel, Acidum fumaricum Injeel, Acidum succinicum-Injeel, Acidum a-ketoglutaricum-Injeel and Natrium pyruvicum-Injeel — which are also available together as the Citric Acid Cycle Set to stimulate the cycle as a whole.
Suggested use
Supplied as ampoules of 1.1 ml. The solution may be taken orally or used by injection (i.m., s.c., i.d. or i.v.). A general guideline is the contents of one ampoule 1–3 times weekly; in acute situations it may be used more frequently, or as directed. As with all catalyst preparations, it is helpful to drink plenty of fluids during the first three days, to rest from strenuous activity, and to follow a light, low-toxin diet; correct timing is important.
