The Complete Guna MD Collagen Device Reference for Practitioners

Part 2 of our Deep GUNA Research series on Collagen Medical Devices, for practitioners.

This article is written for a practitioner audience and draws directly on GUNA's own published reference material on Collagen Medical Devices. It is educational in nature and does not replace clinical judgement or personalised medical advice. All 13 devices below are medical devices intended for administration by a qualified medical practitioner only.

This article is a complete reference to all 13 products in GUNA's Collagen Medical Devices range, covering composition, intended use, standard therapeutic protocol, and the combinations GUNA recommends for specific clinical presentations. For the underlying theory and mechanism, see Part 1 of this series. For the anatomical injection technique per body region, see Part 3.

Products are grouped below as GUNA groups them: seven devices for specific anatomical regions, then six devices organised by tissue type. Within each entry, "connective/aging support" combinations refer to pairing with MD-MATRIX and MD-TISSUE — the two devices GUNA positions as general extracellular-matrix and connective-tissue support, usable alongside any of the region-specific devices.

Also used for firming the subcutaneous and microvascular connective tissue affected by localised adiposity and cellulite, particularly at the root of the thigh and inner knee.

Directions: 2 treatments weekly for the first 2 weeks, then 1 weekly until improvement (average 8–10 sessions); may continue at 1 treatment every other week for up to 10 weeks in total. Chronic presentations — 1 treatment weekly for 1 month until improvement, then monthly. Administered as an intradermal or subcutaneous microinjection (0.2–0.3ml into the affected tissue) or as a periarticular injection.

Combinations: for localised adiposity or subcutaneous firming, GUNA recommends pairing with MD-TISSUE — typically 2 vials of MD-MATRIX to 1 vial of MD-TISSUE per treatment. Also indicated for patients who need general collagen supplementation or a topical anti-ageing treatment.

MD-TISSUE

Collagen + Ascorbic Acid + Magnesium Gluconate + Pyridoxine Hydrochloride + Riboflavin + Thiamine Hydrochloride

Intended use: help movement by counteracting the physiological ageing of connective tissue, via a barrier effect, lubricating action, and mechanical support during other pharmacological treatment. Also used to limit the physiological deterioration of skin and subcutaneous connective tissue and counterbalance the effects of chrono-ageing and photo-ageing: local anti-ageing treatment, face and neck wrinkles, firming of the subcutaneous and perivascular connective layer of the face and neck, and altered connective tissue trophicity caused by airborne pollutants or metabolic disorders.

Three techniques are used depending on presentation: intradermal microinjections (1–3mm depth, 0.2–0.3ml into the affected tissue); the tunnelling technique for wrinkles (0.3ml per wrinkle); and periarticular injection (2–4mm depth, microinjections of 0.3–0.5ml).

Combinations: for face and neck wrinkles and subcutaneous connective tissue firming, GUNA recommends pairing with MD-MATRIX — typically 2 vials of MD-TISSUE to 1 vial of MD-MATRIX per treatment. Also indicated for patients who need general collagen supplementation or a topical anti-ageing treatment.
