Why Isopathy Works: Species-Identical Remedies and the Chondritin Principle

Part 4 of our series, "Understanding SANUM Therapy."

This article is educational in nature and does not replace personalised medical advice. If you are managing a health condition, please consult a qualified practitioner.

Homeopathy is built on the principle of "like cures like" — a remedy that would, at full strength, produce symptoms similar to the illness being treated. Isopathy asks a related but distinct question: what if the remedy were not merely similar to the cause, but identical to it? Species-identical, in fact — the same organism, in its own nonpathogenic, low-developmental form, offered back to the body in homeopathic potency.

This is the therapeutic principle that runs through the entire fungal-preparation branch of the SANUM range, and it is worth slowing down to understand properly, because it explains a detail that often puzzles newcomers to this approach: why remedies are named and chosen by microbial species — Mucor racemosus, Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans — rather than by the symptom picture alone.

What a Chondritin Actually Is

In the cyclogeny we explored in Part 2, every microorganism Enderlein studied passes through a nonpathogenic Chondrit stage before it ever rises into a pathogenic bacterial or fungal form. Chondritins are the isopathic preparations built from precisely these low developmental stages — nonpathogenic by nature, whether drawn from a specific organism such as Mucor racemosus Fresen (as in Mucokehl®) and Aspergillus niger (as in Nigersan®), or from a less specific one such as Penicillium chrysogenum (as in Notakehl®) or Penicillium roquefortii (as in Fortakehl®).

The therapeutic reasoning is direct: exogenous supply of these nonpathogenic Chondritin stages offers the body another possible route for breaking higher, pathogenic forms back down into lower ones. Rather than attempting to eliminate a fungal organism outright, the aim is to give the body's own regulatory intelligence a species-identical template of what that organism looks like in its harmless, low-valenced state — supporting the natural cyclogenetic journey back down, rather than fighting the organism head-on.

Not Aimed at the Disease, But at the Terrain

This is worth stating plainly, because it is easy to miss: these remedies are explicitly described as not directed against the disease or its symptoms. Their action is understood to work by supporting the body's own capabilities for regeneration, whereby genuine healing processes become possible. Isopathic therapy, in other words, aims to normalise the symbiotic equilibrium between the Endobiont and its host organism on a basis of species-identical organisms — restoring balance, rather than declaring war on a microbe.

"They act in the sense of isopathy; that means, they are not directed against the disease or its symptoms, but they support the body's own capabilities for regeneration, whereby genuine healing processes become possible."

The Chondritin Family at a Glance

Across the SANUM range, a whole family of Chondritin preparations addresses different fungal organisms, each selected according to which presentation is being supported:

Albicansan® is built from Chondritins of Candida albicans in a range of homeopathic dilutions, and holds a special position among the isopathic preparations because its therapeutic rationale rests directly on the dimorphism of the yeast organism — the fact that Candida can exist as either a relatively harmless single-celled yeast or, once conditions allow, rise into an invasive, mycelium-forming fungal phase. We look at this in detail in the next article.

Exmykehl® represents a combination of Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis and Penicillium roquefortii, while Pefrakehl® is drawn from the yeast form of Candida parapsilosis specifically — a species predominantly isolated from the skin, from nail bed infections, from otitis externa and from endocarditis in humans, and used as a well-proven adjunct in candidiasis therapy, including through cross-antigen reactions effective against superficial Candida albicans presentations. Mucedokehl®, built from Mucor mucedo, and Fortakehl®, built from Penicillium roquefortii, each round out this family with their own specific fungal identity.

Why the Dosage Discipline Matters

Because isopathic therapy works with the body's own regulatory response rather than against an external target, dosage discipline is taken particularly seriously in this tradition. Every overdose can cause excessive production of decomposition forms, which may not be adequately cleared by the excretion organs — the skin, intestine, urinary paths and bronchi. This is precisely why the paired "anti-Chondritin" preparations exist: antibodies for the fungal Chondritins that accelerate both breakdown and elimination when needed, keeping the whole process within the body's own capacity to process it.

It is also why ensuring the function of the organs of elimination is treated as a precondition for good isopathic therapy, not an optional add-on — and why, for the same reason, a nutrition rich in vitamins and vital substances, ideally vegetarian, rich in raw foods, and free from superfine flour, sugar and other addictive substances, is considered fundamental to the success of any isopathic or immunobiological treatment.

A Different Kind of Precision

What makes this branch of the SANUM range genuinely distinctive is its precision: not precision aimed at eliminating a target as fast as possible, but precision in matching a remedy to the exact organism, and the exact developmental stage of that organism, believed to be involved in a person's presentation. It is a slower, more deliberate kind of specificity — one that treats the microbial world inside us not as an enemy to be eradicated, but as a population that, given the right support, tends to find its own way back to balance.

Having looked at the Chondritin principle in general, the next article turns to the organism this approach is perhaps best known for addressing: Candida albicans, and the specific role of Albicansan, Exmykehl and Pefrakehl in isopathic candidiasis therapy.
